This is a passion project maintained by one guy (that's me). I'm a software engineer by training and an amateur DJ in my spare time.

After using the industry-standard programs like rekordbox and Serato for a few years, I was surprised by how antiquated they felt. Nothing against those programs; they work and do exactly what they say they do. But it seems like they've had the same look and the same set of features (many of which are paywall-locked) for over a decade now.

This app is an excuse to fix every little thing that has ever annoyed me while using those other programs, so that I can DJ with something that works with me instead of fighting me most of the time.

If you're a novice like me, I'm building something that will feel easy, intuitive, and like you're not fighting the program to do something simple. It's even got keyboard shortcuts if you want to try out a sequence when you're on-the-go.

For the more technically skilled, imagine what your sets could sound like if your DJ software had the same automations, resample capability, and plugin compatibility that your DAW does. Imagine if it was easy enough to do such that you can do it live instead of having to pre-record certain sequences. That's the goal: fundamentally raising the ceiling of what is possible for a live performance.
