Which platforms does it run on?
Mac (Intel + Apple Silicon) and Windows (x64).
My computer doesn't trust the application, what should I do?
I'm working on getting my Apple Developer credentials, which will allow me to officially sign and release the app. Until then:
- macOS: you'll have to manually remove the app from quarantine. See here.
- Windows: right-click and run the app as an administrator, and/or click "Open anyway".
Do I need a DJ controller?
Nope. Mixdown has keyboard shortcuts that will get you 90% of the way there, no controller needed. They're laid out to match the decks spatially and should be easy to get the hang of.
That said, you will almost certainly outgrow the keyboard-only functionality in no time. Doesn't hurt to invest in a decent controller.
Which controllers does the app work with?
I've mapped out the MIDI note mappings for 20+ of the most common controllers. If yours is compatible, you should see it pop up as soon as you launch the app and plug it into your computer.
If yours isn't compatible yet, reach out and I can work on fixing that!
Can I import my library from rekordbox, Serato, etc.?
Not yet, but this is coming soon. Stay tuned.
Can I record my mixes?
Yep. Record for however long you want, then export to your machine in whatever format you'd like.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. Once it's installed it runs fully offline. Your library and music stay on your computer, nothing gets uploaded anywhere. I'm not interested in stealing your data lol
How do I update to the latest version?
Launcher with automatic updates coming soon. For now, grab the latest release and install it over the old one. Your library and settings will stick around. New builds will show up on the releases page as soon as they're available.
